Introducing Temnycky’s Theses
Hello current and future Substack Subscribers! It is nice to meet you on this platform.
I am a Ukrainian-American who is a nonresident fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center, an affiliation I have held since December 2021. I am also a freelance journalist who has been covering American, European, and Eurasian national security, foreign policy, energy security, politics, sports, and economics since February 2016. My articles have been published by news outlets and think tanks such as The New York Times, Forbes, the Daily Mail, The Hill, Newsweek, Euronews, the Kyiv Post, the Kyiv Independent, Defense News, EUobserver, The National Interest, the Atlantic Council, Wilson Center, Center for European Policy Analysis, Modern War Institute, and Foreign Policy Research Institute. My publications have been referenced and shared by the European Parliament, NATO Library, NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence, NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence, U.S. Army, Helsinki Commission, Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, RAND Corporation, Transparency International, The Washington Post, Radio Free Europe, and various other American and European government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and news outlets. I have been interviewed by organizations such as FIFA, CNN, the BBC, UK Channel 4, France 24, NPR, Yahoo Finance, Al Jazeera English, Yahoo News, LiveNOW from Fox News, Business Insider, and Newsweek. I have spoken on podcasts with The Telegraph, Voice of America, Chatham House, the Carnegie Council, Razom for Ukraine, Polskie Radio, and New Eastern Europe. I have guest lectured on Eurasian affairs to students, faculty, and staff at the U.S. Military Academy, National Defense University, Columbia University, New York University, Iowa State University, Purdue University, Syracuse University, Le Moyne College, University of Michigan, University of Pittsburgh, and several other U.S. colleges and universities. I have been recognized by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Le Moyne College, Razom for Ukraine, the International Sports Press Association, and the Ukrainian World Congress for my coverage of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Finally, from November 2021 to March 2024, I was invited to discuss U.S.-Ukraine, U.S.-Europe, and U.S.-Russia relations with senior officials from the White House, National Security Council, and U.S. Department of State. Then, in February 2025, I was the lead author for a U.S. Military Academy report on Russia’s war in Ukraine and its impact on the U.S. and European national security for the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. My full portfolio can be found here.
As a policy analyst, journalist, and lecturer, I have maintained a life-long interest in Europe and Eurasia and how these regions impact the United States. My graduate and undergraduate studies, heritage, work experiences, and travel to these regions have furthered my heartfelt commitment to promoting a greater understanding of Europe and Eurasia, contributing to the democratic processes in these regions, and strengthening U.S. diplomatic ties with Europe and Eurasia.
Through this platform, I hope to continue educating and informing readers about various events and activities in the Eurasian region. I will also look to explain the region’s significance to the United States, European Union, and NATO.
Thank you for joining me on Substack, and for entrusting me to tell this story. I look forward to staying in touch, and I welcome our interaction on this platform as we embark on this journey.
